Multiple facilities of one type can be created and updated at once with the help of a CSV import. 

News accounts in QBRX often require the creation of a huge number of facilities. To avoid an individual addition of every facility, it's possible to import multiple similar facilities at once via CSV.

In the same way, you can update multiple already existing facilities. You could, for example, adjust the properties for opening hours of multiple shops at once. 

In this article, we'll be talking about the necessary steps to import and update facilities via CSV and what should be considered regarding the format.


1. How can I create and update facilities via CSV?

  1. Opening the facility administration in the administration app
    • Go to the administration are by selecting the respective option next to the logo. 
    • Choose "Create" or "Update" at "Manage facilities", depending on what you would like to do. The following steps hardly differ for the two functions.
       
  2. Choose a facility category and type
    • First, choose a facility category and afterwards a fitting type that matches the facility you would like to import.
    • You can only import facilities of one type at once, because each facility type has different properties.
    • You have to choose these two options in order to finish the import process.
       
  3. Optional: download a CSV style sheet
    • You can download a CSV style sheet at this point after selecting the respective type.
    • The style sheet matches the chosen facility type
     
  4. Import the CSV file
    • Upload the CSV file.
    • You'll see all information of the CSV file in a table below.
       
  5. Optional for updates: ignore empty cells
    • Tick: empty cells in the CSV file will be ignored
    • No tick: empty cells in the CSV file will delete previous information
       
  6. Creating/ updating facilities
    • Select "Create facilities" or "Update facilities" to finish the import.
    • If the format of your CSV file is alright, the information in the table will turn green.
    • If the format of your CSV file does not match the style sheet, the information in the table will turn red and you'll get a respective error message at the end of it.

    • Select the arrow at the end of the table to get directly to the respective facility.
       

       
  7. Optional: Recognizing error messages and correcting errors
    • If the format of your CSV file does not match the style sheet, the information in the table will turn red and you'll get a respective error message at the end of it that tells you more about the respective error.
    • Correct the error in the CSV file and upload it again.
    • The table turns green if every information is given in a correct way. 
    • Contact the support if the errors remain. 
       



2. What should be considered creating a CSV file?

The CSV format depends on the facility type. That's why there are differences for the information needed. 

The table below gives general information for every facility type and overall tips about the format.

This is the QRL of the higher-ranking facility. The path has to be absolut.

You can change the placement of the facility in the hierarchy by adjusting the parentQRL.

displayNameThe displayed name of the facility.
Key

The key of the facility, which is used to clearly identify it.

Data format

The following data formats can be used:

DD.MM.YYYY

Decimal separator

A dot is the only acceptable decimal separator.

Example: 3.49

Strings

Cells that have the symbols <...> in style sheet are so called strings. here, you can write down any number, letter or special character.

Selection Types

A selection type is an information that depends on the type of facility and only has a limited number of options.

Selection types can be found in the Backoffice of QBRX at theit their matching types. If you have no access to a list of those options, just leave the space empty. The information can subsequently be added to the facility at its properties.
